October 28, 2004: A name synonymous with spark plugs and diesel fuel injection in the country, Mico Bosch, will be displaying its key new technologies for the first time at the 4th Mumbai Auto Show. These include Common Rail Systems (CRS), Anti Brake Systems
(ABS) and Electronic Stability Program (ESP), to name a few.
A name closely associated with the automobile industry – MICO BOSCH with multi-units and multi-locational presence will be participating in the CII organized exhibition with its wide and diverse product range.
Common Rail System (CRS) with high injection pressures, flexibility in injection quantity and timing enables meeting the future emission norms, higher power-torque demand, fuel efficiency and smoother driving. The participation by Mico Bosch at the auto show only
reconfirms the announcement made on August 23, 2004 of its group companies to invest 1,000 crores over the next 4 years in India out of which 550 crores will be towards CR diesel injection systems including application, testing and manufacturing. Amongst the latest and
most advanced auto technologies – CRS will hive off from the production lines at Mico during early 2006. As the market for diesel systems is expanding worldwide, 60% of the diesel applications will be based on CRS. This should augur well for Mico.
ABS prevents wheel lock-up and ensures vehicle stability for enhanced passenger safety during all driving conditions. The Distributor type fuel injection system with electronic control, popularly known as VE-EDC will also be shown at the stall. This helps in improved emission, power and drivability.
The Bosch group worldwide, is the second largest provider of automotive technologies andis committed to providing latest product innovations that are safe, clean and economical. Other products that will make its presence at the show include Blaupunkt Car Multimedia Systems, Bosch Power Tools, Gasoline Systems, auto electricals such as starter motors and alternators, auto accessories and Automotive Sales Aftermarket group. The Blaupunkt division will display its key model - ChicagoPilot, an all-in-one car entertainment and navigation system. Other products from the same fold also include car radios namely Skyline & Funline Radio 2004, that has a modernly engineered design with large, highresolution displays and variable keypad illumination.
The Power Tools division of Bosch will be displaying Bosch Exact Cordless tools - meant for industrial applications, Garden Tools, High pressure Washers which can be used for high pressure cleaning of large applications including car washing and industrial floor cleaning,
and Bosch Tool Kits.
The latest developments in Gasoline Fuel Injection technology for the two wheeler market and small engines will also be displayed, in addition to the standard Gasoline Injection systems already being used in the modern day cars. The system and components are designed to suit the performance and packaging requirements of two wheelers and small engines. The spark plugs division will showcase new spark plugs like Quick Heat Geometry, Double Earth Electrodes and Nickel Yttrium to provide better startability and long life to the
customer’s vehicle. It will also display Quick Heat Glow plugs (e.g. 5 mm, 4 mm and 3.3 mm) to facilitate faster starting of diesel engines.
The Automotive Aftermarket division will emphasise on Bosch Car Service, a high quality Car Service facility that is unfolding steadily in various parts of the country and also reflect upon the extensive range of passenger car service products that the MICO and BOSCH
brands have to offer to the market.
The 4th Mumbai Auto Show being organized by CII between the 28th to the 31st of October 2004 will provide a platform for displaying the latest in automobile, two-wheeler, automotive components and accessory manufacturers market. The exhibition will showcase a slew of products from International auto majors who have entered the Indian market alongwith indigenous products from Indian auto manufacturers also. The earlier auto show of 2003 had about 75,000 car enthusiasts with over 65 exhibitors from across the country. This year the show has 90 exhibitors participating and is expecting 1,25,000 visitors according to official sources.
